Seven Great Sins (七つの大罪, Nanatsu no Taizai) are optional enemies that appear in Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies and Bravely Second: End Layer. Also known as sin beasts, players first encountered them in the Norende Village restoration game in Bravely Default, and are explained further in the sequel.
 Bravely Default
The Seven Great Sins's backstory is never explained in Bravely Default. They attacked the village of Norende, but didn't have any adverse effects to its completion, so they were completely optional to clash with. However, they were a good challenge to players because of their superboss-like stats and health, and they dropped special items called buns that could permanently raise a character's stats.
 Bravely Second
The Seven Great Sins are the manifestations of mankind's most deadly sins, and each beast slept in a stone monument across Luxendarc. Yōko has held control of these creatures since time immemorial. When the warriors of light defeated her in Vampire Castle, she disappeared into the shadows and her absence meant the sins will be unleashed, so Ringabel tasked Magnolia Arch with their obliteration. With every sin beast defeated, the characters gained their scrolls and acquired the authority to use them in battle via the yōkai asterisk.
