|Game Appearance(s)||Bravely Second: End Layer|
Alfred is a non-playable character that appears in Bravely Second: End Layer. He is the butler that serves House Geneolgia.
In the Prologue, when Yew Geneolgia went into coma after fighting Kaiser Oblivion, Alfred constantly tried to wake him up, and was worried that he may have lost his young master. When Yew decided to go on a mission to save Agnès Oblige from the kaiser's hands, Alfred handed him his diary, and even gave a prayer to Foundar Geneolgia to protect and watch over Yew. When the Glanz Empire struck a second time to the city of Gathelatio, Alfred met Yew outside and told him about the events that have just transpired. Seeing Nikolai Nikolanikov's death with his own eyes, Yew packed his bags preparing for a long journey which earned him a scolding from Alfred, but he still entrusted the manor to his humble servant. Moved by the young man's determination, he allowed Yew to go.
In Chapter 5, Alfred brought a spare key to the Geneolgia Crypts because Yew needed it to access the mausoleum since he was about to confront the Kaiser. When he got to the entrance, he saw Janne Angard and Nikolai, and rebuked their past actions against Yew, but his master turned his comments down and asked for the key, only to discover the catacomb was already open (to the surprise of the old butler.) According to Alfred, the only other spare key to the Crypts is in the possession of Denys, so it should have been impossible to open its doors, but Yew told him the truth about his brother and the facts astounded the old timer; he didn't even want to believe it at first. After Denys was defeated, Alfred prepared a feast in Geneolgia Manor, and everyone enjoyed it, including Denys himself.
 Character Design & Personality
Alfred appears as a man in his seventies, and has white hair in his head, eyebrows, mustache and beard. He wears glasses and a typical butler uniform with a red bow tie.
Alfred can be seen as a worrywart since he is always reminding Yew of his aristocracy and anything he might have forgotten, like his diary. Alfred's cooking is something else, however; gaining praise from Edea Lee, Magnolia Arch (who wanted to ask him for recipes) and Tiz Arrior.
Alfred is a given name which originates from Ælfræd, a compound of "elf" and "counsel."
